I don't really want to teach here.
Weakness:
For learner:
Group discussion for whole class?
Across group?
Presentation?
For teacher:
Difficult to monitor
To know students' pace of learning
To know students' pace of understanding?
To know students' feedback?
Presenting idea?
For technical staff:
Difficult to set up?
Not flexible to move the chair, table and computers.
For budget:
It is of course expensive!

ReplyDeleteI have the similar feeling about teaching in the experimental room.
It is not cost-effective. For example, we already brought our own computer, but there are still some on each dest, and in the room there are a lot of monitors, making us sometimes feel confused that we do not know which one we should watch.
The most important thing is it does not seem that this room can change the teaching way so much. For example, in the course Mite6310, we also use the Prezi for teaching and presentation. But in this luxury room, it does not change so much.

i am really not sure whether I would like teaching in the classroom. may be the same ideas with you more or less, My private opinion about the experimental room as follow:
ReplyDeleteThe advanced technology facilities are introduced during the teaching which bring us more visual teaching tool, and more supporting information to learning, and give separate table to every group discussion, but it maybe cost a lot of money, and we need train staff to work with it well and efficient. and the student to accept the new teaching style, anyway, I think it is a long time for this new appearance to develop and improve.
